Took Frisbee off--Louder sound normal?

I took the frisbee off, and is a sort of metallic sound normal for that?  I assume it's just the sound dampner not being on there, am I right? :crazy:

from what your describing....this is not normal...

No new noise when I removed mine. Did you install washers to make up for the missing frisbee? If not, it may not be fully tightened.

if you didn't put washers behind the bolts they might have gone all the way through and are hitting the housing of the waterpump.

I removed the quot;frisbeequot; about a month ago.  I did place extra washers to take up the slack.  No noise to speak of.

I took mine off and did not add washers.......just bolted back up.  I have had no problems

Took mine off a month ago, no ill effects or new sounds... I took my serpintine belt off when uninstalling the quot;frisbeequot;..

97Supra... You dont have a frisbee on your LT1.... But what it is... Its a quot;frisbeequot; looking disc bolted onto the front of the water pump... it weighs about 8lbs... taking it off has show -.1 off 1/4 times and about 10hp increase... and the engine will rev little quicker and easily... It was there to dampin the A/C when its turned on.. but even GM has said its not needed..... I didnt take mine off yet... i have to go to the track and see with the car completely stock what times it can pull....

Oh and I figured that's all the frisbee does. I mean, it's not like it balances anything, perfect circles don't do that, I just figured the frisbee like reduced the water pump pulley's noise...guess I was wrong...
